House Yasemin
House Yasemin is in the village of Kapikiri which itself is built in the classical harbour town of Herakleia. Every morning the country women place their milk pails on the ancient columns of the
Temple of Athene still found in their land. On the one hand there are 7.000 yeas-old rock drawings in mountain caves, Greek town sites Byzantine monasteries with frescoes, and the genuine
village life of country people with their donkeys and cows: on the other impressive mountains with exceptional rock formations, falcon and eagel nests on the rock walls, inviting Lake Bafa with its beaches great for swimming, and a unique area for birdlife. At breakfast on the terrace overlooking the village and lake you can see with the naked eye pink clouds of flamingos and pelicans sitting every day on the rocks. It is an ideal area for bird lovers and climbers, who can reach the pathless summits with their guides and even be invited to tea by the semi-nomads in their cave homes.
